Welcome to the Walter J. Ong, S.J. World Jamboree 1929 Online Archives. In the coming months we will be posting, annotating, and researching the materials collected by the Jesuit Walter Ong, one of the great scholars of communication and linguistics of the twentieth century, as he journeyed to England for the 1929 Boy Scout World Jamboree.
The collection is substantial, and is being digitized by the Saint Louis University Pius Library Digitization Center. We are grateful for their help and support in this project.
In the Fall of 2017 the Ong Center for Digital Humanities will be using this material to showcase several digital research tools for the humanities, so come back often!
